Jesus fuck, how did the previous thread fill up so quickly?
Anyways, a quick recap for anybody who’s been on this roleplay before:
By now everybody’s learned about the Dilophosaurus Empire and their re-uprising after decades of operating in secret. The Outlaw “class” is used for evil characters that aren't affiliated with the Empire. All our characters remain in relatively the same positions and relationships.
For those who haven’t been part of the roleplay yet and want to join: I suggest that you read these first. They’ve been put in chronological order. Armageddon and Rise from Tartarus are the most important, though it’s always good to read the other ones for some background context, so you don’t get confused by any call-backs and mentions of previous characters/events.
All major characters from the first four threads are dead or non-canon.
Anyways, you may be wondering; what the shit happened in between the two maps? Well, here’s what. Major earthquakes and magnetic activity have moved around the places in The Rift. That's why the first and the second map are so different.
1. Deserted Plains: A lonely flatland. Some of the major rivers were buried by sediment, creating the Plains. This area is home to dozens of different species of Stegosaurs and Hadrosaurs, but the apex predator here is Proceratosaurus.
2. High Jungle: A mystical aura waves in the High Jungle. It is said to be the site where Jasper held his last stand against the dreaded Ridley. Smaller predators such as Masiakasaurus live here alongside larger herbivores such as Muttaburrasaurus.
3. Mount Kratakota: A massive mountain that was created by the earthquake that killed Jasper and Ridley. Many dinosaurs usually die here. The dinosaurs that live here are only those that come from Late Cretaceous North America, with the exception of Cathartesaura, which comes from Mid-Cretaceous Argentina.
4. Ruined Castle: The ruined Mount Luckyone crumbled, leaving behind the volcanic shaft. Sinraptors, Deinonychus, and hadrosaurs inhabit the area. And yes, the Goddamned Bats still live here.
5. The Swamp: Kaiser Greedy lived here years ago before his army was crushed. Even now, danger rings in the air. Mostly home to Spinosaurs, Troodontids, and crocodiles.
6. Sandstone Seas: This used to be a huge ocean millennia ago. Coral and sea rocks can still be seen here. Few dare to enter the Sandstone Seas, lest the sun dry them to a husk. You can find some Brachylophosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Lesothosaurus, or Triceratops here, but I’d say about 60% of the dinosaurs here are Velociraptor.
7. The Mountains of Nothingness: Before, this was the dreaded Blizzard. Now, it is a mountain range. The temperature, while still cold, is now warm enough to support life. Mostly home to Cretaceous Argentinean/Jurassic North American/Jurassic European dinosaurs, like Amargasaurus, Apatosaurus, or Juravenator, though Chaoyangopterid(I don’t know how to spell it)pterosaurs live here as well.
8. Hell’s House: An active volcano. Every week it erupts, killing thousands. The only animal that lives here is Tropeognathus.
9. The Y-Knot/Watering Hole: This is the figurative and literal center of the Rift; animals gather to gossip or to trade, hunt together, fight, etc. Hundreds of various species live here.
10. The Wasteland: A swamp surrounding Mount Kratakota. Home to ceratopsians and tyrannosaurs.
11. Xavi River: Formerly the Steam Stream, this river runs boiling hot during the day, but cools down to barely above freezing at night. Nobody lives in the river per se, but they live around it. Spinosaurs can usually be found here.
12. The Boneyard: Thousands of dinosaurs are buried up here on this plateau at the top of Mount Kratakota. Paragon himself died here. Only small carnivores and hadrosaurs live here.
13. Voodoo Forest: The two Twin Towers crumbled, allowing the Fire Woods to grow at a very fast rate. Bad things always happen here, hence the name. For the most part ceratopsians live here, but there are Megalosaurus and Dilophosaurus as well.
14. The Sea of Something: A small sea full of something. Mostly full of plesiosaurs and mosasaurs.
15. The Coral Walls: Coral reefs, just barely covered with water. That's why they are called "Walls". They are also home of Ichthyosaurs and the Almighty...Start playing this in the background...Henodus.
16. Lone Isle: Home of some seagull-like species of prehistoric birds and insects. But the creatures aren't the interesting thing here, it's the mountain's peak, which is made out of an electric crystal meteor that slammed into the Rift precisely 160 years ago. Due to erosion the meteor was sharpened to look like a natural mountain peak...if one considers an electric yellow mountain peak something that can look normal. Because of the height the crystal is on, it attracts very bad weather--there are maelstroms and thunderstorms for all but ten days of the year.
17. Flat Green: No one lives here. It's too small...and flat...and...green.
18. Ravine Nest: A huge ravine where different species lay eggs or give birth. It's divided into two sections--the southern side is occupied by the Outlaws and the northern side is populated by Neutrals and Rebels.
19. The Titan Home: A very strange place. From the ground rise hundred, if not thousands of skeletons belonging to some...massive animals. They look like a big herd of Titanosaurus, all of them two or, rarely, three times bigger than the average size of the normal Titanosaur. The skeletons are halfway in the ground, allowing the rib cages to be used as homes for the many Spinosaurus living here. Only the Outlaws' side is present here--the other Spinosaurus have gone to Mount Near-Isle or to the Neutral/Rebel side of Ravine Nest to avoid being attacked.
20. The Geysers: A couple of hot geysers in the middle of nowhere.
21. Mount Near-Isle: Underwater mountains that could nearly be islands, due to reaching just a couple of meters below the water surface.
22. The Sinkhole: A sinkhole.
23. Vulkaan Eiland: Nothing much going on here. Home of mostly seagull-like prehistoric birds, insects, Kentrosaurus, Deinonychus and Pteranodon.
24. La Palm Tree: An island, just over three square meters, on which is growing a lonely palm. The only visitors this island have are misguided birds.
25. Another Flat: Another flat island no one wants to live on. This one has some trees, though.
26. The Shadowlands: Ceratosaurus and Tarbosaurus. That’s all I can say. Many enter the Shadowlands, but nobody leaves. It separates the northern side of the continent from the southern.
27. Leave River: The fast-flowing river that goes through the High Jungle. It is rather cold, but the water is surprisingly soothing. This is because the River of Ice and the Sparkling Creek merged into one river.
28. The Lowlands: Miles and miles of ash. Very few trees, a lot of ferns. Underneath the ash is a vast mud pit. Dozens of sauropod species and theropods live here.
29. Granite Quarry: It may look like a nice vacation spot, but the skeletons suggest otherwise. This is a massive predator trap, full of tar pits and cacti. Nobody lives here for obvious reasons.
30. The Blood Snake: A lake running with blood. The lake and river combined give the appearance of a snake.
31. Lake Lake: This lake is the place where the very first Emperor drowned. Otherwise it's just a lake.
32. The Nightmare: An extremely deep trench. Nobody except for one can make it down here without being suffocated and crushed by the sheer pressure of the water above.
33. Shark Crescent: Various species of sharks are found here, as well as crabs, dromaeosaurids, and Stegosaurs.
34. Charybdis Rocks: Two jagged rocks inhabited only by plants and pterosaurs. Said pterosaurs viciously slaughter everybody that draws close.
35. The Tomb Lake/Lake Lake Lake: If you are able to swim down enough, you'll find a set of tombs, belonging to Emperors and leaders that have ruled and commanded the Rift a long time ago.
36. Sea Lake/Lake Lake Lake Lake: For some reason this lake is salty. No one knows if it connects to the sea, because no one wants to go through the Shadowlands to find out.
37. Isle of the Grassy Mass of Grass, Sand, and Rocks that Vaguely Looks Like the Zombot Sharktronic Sub from Plants versus Zombies 2: A grassy mass of an island covered in grass, sand, and rocks. It vaguely looks like the Zombot Sharktronic Sub from Plants versus Zombies 2. It’s surrounded by a massive trench on all sides.
38. Quagga Delta: A barren desert island. There are various types of rocks on the island.
39. Flamingo Delta: A lush island with fruit and various species of birds and ornithischians.
40. Ice Land: An island covered in ice and snow. Has nothing to do with Iceland.
41. Neon Ravine: The other major trench in the Rift’s seas. It has tons of Electrophorus and Humboldt squid.
42. Death Chasm: A ravine surrounding the northmost part of the Ruined Castle. Fall into this, you can’t climb out. If you fall far enough, you reach the darkest depths of the Rift, a castle of steel. This castle is the “headquarters” of the Empire.
RULES:
You must be completely accurate with your characters. The only exception to this rule is the Spinosaurus, in which case I will accept either the bipedal or the quadruped version due to the controversy surrounding it; however, should you use the quadruped version, it must be 100% aquatic.
Small mutations such as being slightly larger than average or having enhanced sight are allowed, but for every strength, there must be a flaw, i.e. a Gorgosaurus with enhanced hearing cannot see as well as a Gorgosaurus without enhanced hearing.
Major mutations such as the ability to spit acid or a Juravenator lifting three tons are not allowed.
Character development is highly encouraged.
You can injure other characters, but you cannot kill them without their owner’s consent unless the target in question is a minor character.
Can we please build friendly relationships with each other and not beat up our characters constantly?
Oversizing is allowed, but it can't be too extreme, such as an Agustinia being 70 feet long instead of 50. An Agustinia being 55 feet long is acceptable; the size must be in an acceptable range.
No "alphas" of a species.
Creatures who switch diets to one they aren't physically supposed to, such as a Leallynasaura(I hope Jaigantic is satisfied, I’ve been using an awful lot of Australian animals recently…) ascending to carnivorism, will become sick fairly often.
No curses or magic or that stuff.
Anything NSFW such as sex will result in the character(s), and possibly the RPer, being banned.
Overpowered characters can and usually will result in me(or someone else...usually me) killing them.
Not too many characters of the same species. We don’t need half of our characters to consist of nothing but Velociraptors.
Oceanic language is only spoken by sea creatures(except fish and arthropods, who don't have vocal chords, or lungs, for that matter). Sea creatures' vocal cords are different from land-dwellers, so they can never speak any of the languages the land creatures can, and land creatures cannot speak Oceanic. Ask Jaigantic if you want to learn it, it’s quite complicated. Then again, I don’t even know why we even have this rule, because we don’t even have a lot of ocean-dwelling characters in the first place…
Certain dinosaurs, such as Mosasaurus and Ankylosaurus cannot be used as characters, but can be found in the wild. The Tyrannosaurus rex, Utahraptor(aside from Kortoc), and Quetzalcoatlus species are extinct and can neither be used nor found in the wild.
There is a limit of seven major characters per RPer. No limit on secondary and minor characters.
Here's an example of how to introduce your characters:
Name: Mecha Santa
Species: Desmatosuchus
Gender(Biological, not mental; I don’t want to deal with a herd of “transgender male lesbians” attacking me): Male
Age(First in that certain species’s years, then convert it to human years): 40 Desmatosuchus years(20 human years)
Appearance(You can add a picture if you want, but a written description is a must): All gray.
Personality: None to speak of.
Likes: Food.
Dislikes: Whatever isn't food.
History(Tell us about your character’s backstory): He woke up one day. He grew up. That is all.
Territory(Say where your character lives): Hell.
Size(1-15 feet=⭐️, 16-30 feet=⭐️⭐️, 31-50 feet=⭐️⭐️⭐️, 51+ feet=⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️): ⭐️⭐️
Class(Good, Neutral, Outlaw, Evil): Neutral
Importance(Major, secondary, or minor): None; he's a nonexistent character.
Secondary and minor characters do not need this introduction, but you can use this for them if you want.
