Horsetails are tall decorative living-fossil plants that look like reeds and lived from the Mid Jurassic period, to now. They are based off the real-life plant Equisetum. Unlike almost everything else in the mod, the Horsetail is not actually extinct. It stills lives in large numbers today.

Punching a Horsetail will not destroy the item, unlike grass. Dinosaurs will not eat this plant. Like most other content in the mod, it does not spawn naturally in the world . The horsetail and Calamites are the only horsetail plants in the mod.

Appearance

The Horsetail is a small thin plant that is green. It has many small string-like branches all over it. It has a tall version that is a block taller and looks even more like a reed.

Horsetails are used for decoration. Because it is long and thin, it can be used to make a bamboo forest, or reeds.

Obtaining

The Horsetail can only be obtained by putting a Plant Fossil in an Analyzer. There is a rare chance that the Analyzer will give back Fossilized Horsetail Spores, which you then must put in a Culture Vat. Unless the Culture Vat fails and spawns a Failure Plant, it will then turn the Fossilized Seeds into normal Horsetail Spores which can be planted.

To obtain the Tall Horsetail plant, simply use Bone Meal on the shorter version of the Horsetail.
